Product Design Manager – Remote

 

Our client, an award-winning late-stage tech start-up revolutionizing the recycling industry, is seeking a hands-on Product Design Manager, a player coach, to help build the products that facilitate a best-in-class experience for both customers and internal system users, including custom portals and dashboards, and mobile apps. You will lead a team of product designers, and help define the company's component library, design guidelines, and design processes, in support of core product enhancements and new features and products. In addition, you will coordinate the enhancement of UX for our existing products.

This is a very visible and impactful role. They see design as crucial to their growth and expansion plans.

 

Responsibilities

• Set Design standards and processes for the Design Team and the company as a whole
• Create a Component Library
• Lead UX Research and Discovery
• Collaborate with Engineers on technical design feasibility and design handoffs for development
• Help educate end-users on new products
• Design large scale, complex web, and mobile products
• Collaborate with leadership on product strategy
• Manage and mentor a team of product designers

 

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional end-to-end design experience
• 2+ years of professional experience managing design teams
• Experience shaping and growing a product design team
• A portfolio demonstrating UX expertise, clean design sense, and interest in customer experience
• Experience creating design systems, user flows, and information architecture from the ground up
• The agility to design experiences for different types of users, across different interfaces and devices
• Experience with prototyping tools such as the Adobe CS and Figma and project management tools such as Jira and Confluence
• Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and/or JavaScript is a plus.
